Born and raised in mainland China, Dr.
Yi-Ming Yang, completed his medical education in the United
States where he earned his medical doctor’s degree from
the prestigious Columbia University College of Physician and
Surgeon. He subsequently underwent vigorous internal medicine
residency as well as general cardiology fellowship training
at the renowned Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He continued
his subspecialty training in interventional cardiology at
the revered Lenox Hill Interventional Cardiac and Vascular
Institute in New York City, where he is currently a full-time
attending.
Dr. Yang specializes in minimally invasive
interventional treatment of a variety of cardiac and vascular
diseases, including coronary atherosclerotic disease and peripheral
vascular disease involving the extremities, the kidneys and
the carotid arteries. He is the proud author of numerous peer-reviewed
publications, including articles, abstracts as well as review
and book chapter in the area of cardiology and interventional
cardiology. He, along with his colleagues at the Lenox Hill
Interventional Cardiac and Vascular Services, actively participate
in clinical researches sponsored or approved by government
agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration.
As a minority physician of Chinese descent,
Dr. Yang strives to serve a patient population with diverse
ethnical backgrounds. Fluent in both English and Chinese and
armed with his familiarity with the Chinese culture, he has
developed extensive experience in meeting the medical needs
of the Chinese community through his practice.
